Amazon announced Friday it will settle a dispute with Arizona over unpaid sales taxes, and will begin collecting sales tax on items ordered by customers in the state.
As reported by Howard Fischer of Capitol Media Services, Amazon and its subsidiaries will collect a 6.6 percent levy starting Feb. 1 for physical goods and July 1 for digital purchases. In return, Arizona won’t go after taxes on items sold before those dates.
