Benedict Cumberbatch, who breathed new life into Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Great Detective in the BBC’s Sherlock, is poised to do the same again for Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, taking the stage of London’s National Theatre — and taking turns with Jonny Lee Miller playing the iconic mad scientist and his doomed creation in director Danny Boyle’s steampunkified production, written by Nick Dear.
