Word dropped today that Amazon Prime members will have access to the first eight seasons of the modern Doctor Who series starting in March.

UPDATE: Amazon Prime gets series 1-8 on March 27, followed by series 9 in September.
The announcement comes after agreements with Netflix and Hulu ended (for now), and weeks of rumors that the BBC would announce its own in-house streaming home for its increasingly popular drama content.
The online availability of classic Doctor Who (1963-1989) remains, frankly, a streaming mess.
