LUCASFILM
It’s an Indy film festival! Indiana Jones, that is.
See Indy run. See Indy jump. See Indy find the Ark of the Covenant and Holy Grail and kick Nazi butt in the mother of all action-adventure trilogies!
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade starts at 3 p.m. Saturday (May 10) on USA Network. It’s followed by Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom at 5:51 p.m. and Raiders of the Lost Ark at 8:27 p.m.
They’re not in the right order, but it doesn’t matter; this is required viewing if you haven’t seen them but you plan to check out Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull when it opens in theaters May 22.
For the record, the correct story order should be: Temple of Doom (set in 1935), Raiders (set in ’36) and Last Crusade (set in ’38, with a brief flashback to Indy’s youth in 1912). But the films came out in this order: Raiders (1981), Temple of Doom (’84) and Last Crusade (’89).
A final thought: It’s really lame that they’re marketing a “special edition” of these films on DVD just before Crystal Skull comes out in theaters — because you know there will be a new boxed set when the Crystal Skull DVD is released in just a few months! Don’t buy into the hype — catch them on TV this weekend to tide you over, then wait for the complete package!
