Scooby-Doo: Legend of the Phantosaur (Warner Bros.)

There’s something you need to understand about me: I’m absolutely obsessed with Scooby-Doo. I may have a genuine problem. But I have made sure my 7-year-old (Happy Birthday, Trevor!) is well versed in the classics of the genre as well as the latest incarnations. And, I have taken every opportunity here to highlight the hysterical hound’s recent forays into Nerdvana-related territory, such as this year’s Batman: The Brave and the Bold crossover episode (complete with celebrity guest star “Weird Al” Yankovic) and the Cthulhu-themed and classic Hanna-Barbera tribute episodes of Mystery Incorporated.

This week I once again show just how much of a meddling-kid nerd I am in a guest post on Wired magazine’s GeekDad blog (where I previously have done my fair share to populate their Scooby-Doo category). This time, it’s a look at the new animated feature Scooby-Doo: Legend of the Phantosaur on Cartoon Network and home video (watch a clip here, courtesy of Warner Bros.) as well as the state of the Scoobyverse in general.

Jinkies, I’m such a nerd.
