Morning Glory features a wildly talented cast, including Diane Keaton, Harrison Ford, Rachel McAdams, Patrick Wilson and Jeff Goldblum. Telling the story of a struggling news producer (played wonderfully by the beautiful McAdams), Morning Glory is a great movie about the line between professional and personal; how much work is too much; where are your priorities? In this way, Morning Glory is able to set itself apart from traditional romantic/comedies and use its multi-generational cast to gain a broader appeal.
Unfortunately, the movie under-utilizes its two greatest assets: Keaton and Ford. They are pretty much one-note throughout the film and when the time for character development finally comes, it’s too little too late.
While it’s a cute movie, with some genuine laughs, Morning Glory wastes a golden opportunity to let Keaton and Ford shine.
