Thrawn: Alliances cover, secret mission with Darth Vader revealed

Classic Dungeons & Dragons back in print! - Available now @ Dungeon Masters Guild

Star Wars book Thrawn: AlliancesThe cover for the upcoming Star Wars novel  Thrawn: Alliances has been revealed and, in line with author Timothy Zahn’s plot, it brings the Imperial Grand Admiral together with the dreaded Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader himself.

All we know so far about the book is that it finds Thrawn on a secret mission for the Emperor and joining forces with Vader.

Readers of this year’s Thrawn — due out in paperback Jan. 30, 2018 — will recall that the blue-skinned Chiss met Lord Vader at the end of that story, upon his ascension to the rank of grand admiral, and also that he mentions having met Anakin Skywalker years earlier.

Thrawn is getting a comic-book adaptation starting Feb. 7, 2018, and the character will return for the last half of Star Wars Rebels’ final season on Disney XD in “early 2018.”

No release date has been officially announced for Thrawn: Alliances other than summer 2018, although Amazon currently associates June 25, 2018, with the novel.
