Just a few years ago, researchers were about to declare the Y chromosome an endangered piece of our DNA because it was failing to keep pace with the evolution of the X chromosome. (Reaching back to high school biology, the Y chromosome is uniquely male, while the X chromosome appears in both sexes.)
But this morning on National Public Radio I heard that scientists at MIT now say men are still in fact evolving — despite mounting evidence to the contrary:
