That ’70s show … Arizona style

Banner: Calling all adventurers! Create or find your new adventure @ Dungeon Masters Guild

If you’re one of the few Arizonans who was actually here in the ’70s (born in ’77 here, baby!), Channel 8 wants to hear from you. The Valley’s PBS affiliate is beginning production on its latest installment of “Arizona Memories.”

Previous episodes have added an Arizona spin to the ’50s and ’60s. This time, they’re tacking the dynamite decade of disco, ‘fros and fuel shortages.

Here are a few groovy sample questions from KAET to get you in the mood:

  • Were you there when the Phoenix Suns made the playoffs in their second season?
  • Can you recall the very first Fiesta Bowl – when ASU took the title?
  • Were you watching when Mary Jo West made her debut as the first woman to anchor Phoenix prime-time news?
  • Do you remember when the Tempe bridge was washed out in a flood?

The station will be accepting materials for review that include Kodachrome slides, 8mm, Super 8mm and 16mm home movies, photographs and other memorabilia. If you want to contribute, check out www.azpbs.org/70s. The submission deadline is Oct. 31.
