Face your fears with the ultimate Friday the 13th date night

Springs Hosting

Friday the 13th is notoriously a day of bad luck that strikes fear in the hearts of the phobia prone, but with two new and unique fright affairs opening simultaneously this upcoming Friday, this date may turn out to be your luckiest day ever. Face your fears head-on with the following ultimate Friday the 13th date night.

April’s Friday the 13th marks the Grand Opening of downtown Mesa’s Monsterland Bar & Grill, the most uncommonly cool nightclub in the Valley. The unnerving new nightspot will offer themed food like their Swamp Thing Sandwich and the King Kong Burger and they will also have signature drinks and 20 Arizona microbrews on tap. There will be live music, a dance floor and the Monsterland wait-staff will be adorned in creepy costumes (fingers-crossed for a Sarsaparilla served by Vampirella.) Scary good times are guaranteed and you can get more information at monsterland.com or contact kristy@monsterland.com to find out more regarding the opening night festivities.

To make it a complete evening of petrifyingly fearful fun, take your date to The Cabin in the Woods, which opens in theaters this Friday. This enormously entertaining new horror film has been called the “ultimate date movie” by director Drew Goddard and it is the perfect precursor to an unusual evening of fun at Monsterland.

While you’re in downtown Mesa Friday night, don’t miss the 2nd Friday Independent Music Project (IMP) Festival featuring nine the best bands from the local music scene, and in keeping with your monster-themed evening, don’t miss The Rusted Nail Gallery’s opening of its Monsters on Main Street art show.
