UPDATE! Hundreds snag tickets to ‘Wolverine’ premiere
“I do love meeting the fans, particularly with these movies. I know how passionate they are, and I love to share it with them,” star Hugh Jackman told USA Today’s Cindy Clark. He told her he is excited to visit Arizona for the first time.
Jackman hit the Internet at the beginning of the month announcing the contest to bring the world premiere and the entire cast to the city with the most online votes. An official announcement on the contest winner is due soon. The star-studded premiere, set for April 27, would be at the Harkins Cine Capri at Tempe Marketplace.
Tempe area code 85281 enjoyed a tight lead until a spirited effort from Davis, Calif., brought the contest to a virtual dead heat Thursday. Tempe Mayor Hugh Hallman and Harkins Theatres fought back with a campaign of their own.
